The creator of the Amelie soundtrack, Yann Tiersen is in Vicar Street on Nov 5th. Thanks to Lewis for spotting this one. Though I'm in Dublin that night, I've opted instead for the music of Martin Grech, playing in Whelans. Grech became famous on the back of a Lexus advertisement set in Rome (choir boy like airs as car drives into Piazza, cuts to car interior and silence, and so on) - check out a track here:

It's feast or famine around Dublin sometimes - the night after the above gigs, a fine act that Pat first put me onto - Pulse Programming. They played Sonar in Barcelona this year. Now it's the turn of The Sugar Club. This one is not getting a lot of coverage. The markwrafter.com mp3 section is gonna feature a tune, "Blooms Eventually" for Nov 2003, but you can get it now by clicking here: Link 2

As an aside, Pulse are supported on the night by Irish group Earsugar who've recently caught the attention of Chris Coco.

The excellent (truly excellent) Random are playing a showcase gig on the Nov 12th in the Sugar Club. Get on the guestlist by emailing guestlist@rndm.com with your name and email address, or pay EUR10 on the door. Of all bands, of all nites, amongst all your commitments - get to this one! (Donal, you've been warned!) There's a track for download here: Link 3

Almost done... the Tycho Brahe play the Olympia soon, go check. Finally, Rodrigo y Gabriela conclude a mini tour in Christchurch Cathedrel on Dec 1/2 (that's giving you a whole five weeks to organise a date, Brian!) - it's a great venue, which alone makes it a fine bet - they just happen to be a fine duo too :-) Link 4

That's it.

M.
