So, for the first time, there are two individuals on the mailing list who I don't know personally and have never met. It seems that one hails from California, and the other from good olde Scotland. Welcome both. (They signed up through markwrafter.com, folks!)
Events are limited to three on this occasion - but they're white hot.
First up is Wevie Stonder (www.weviestonder.com) - I told the two Pauls, Lewis and Cormac about this tonight as I'm determined to make this the onemorego.com Christmas party event... so this is for the benefit of the rest of you... December 6th - Sugar Club, Dublin. When last I saw Wevie Stonder (aka Wevie De Crepon) in action the lead singer/shouter wore face paints; stuck his finger up the anus of a toy cow; and sang about motorway bollards! The gig is being put on my the lads and lassies at Mór Festival (thanks Michael!). For a track, try this out... it's the aforementioned "Bollard Tune"... Link 1
Next in chronological order is Dirk Dresselhaus, aka Schneider TM. Again the Sugar Club, Dublin is the venue - December 20th - hailing from Deutschland he has released two albums, the most recent Zoomer is quite a cracker. He toured this year with the great Les Savy Fav and Enon (I'm gonna catch Enon next week by the way - can't wait!). Here's a track from Schneider TM - "The Light 3000", which is really a retitled cover of The Smiths' classic "There is a light that never goes out" - Link 2
And finally - if you're in the mood for a bit of travel this New Year's Eve, not that I can make it, (I'll be at The Frames gig in the Olympia) but in London - at an as yet undisclosed secret location - is Andrew Weatherall, Americhord (live), Radioactive Man, Decal (live), Cristian Vogel, Rick Hopkins, Alex Knight, Mat Carter. Now, that's a line-up! Keep your eye on the artists sites, particularly Vogels for more details. This one is worth it for Irish outfit Decal, alone. Point of interest: Americhord is Decal's wife. Though I don't imagine they call each other those names in bed!
Until next time.
M.
